Melissa Stark

Originally from Sacramento, California, Mel Stark moved up to Eugene in 2001 for her masters degree program in Intermedia Music Technology at the University of Oregon. Mel has been in the music technology field for 15 years with the last ten in field recording and audio engineering.

An accomplished composer and soundscape artist, Mel has had numerous performances of her original works both nationally and internationally, and currently is a singer/songwriter within the acoustic duo, Left Turn Only. In addition to writing music, performing, and freelancing at SCS, Mel teaches Audio Engineering Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced levels at Lane Community College.

To continue advancing her knowledge of digital audio workstations, Mel is in the process of becoming Pro Tools certified. "I teach Pro Tools at Lane within the Engineering program, so getting certified just makes sense." She hopes to be certified before summer 2009.
