Born and raised in Eugene, OR, Alden started his journey in audio in high school. Over the years, he has specialized in all things heavy music, having done sound at John Henry’s for bands such as Black Flag, Crowbar, Conan, Eyehategod, Agent Orange, Green Jelly, Pentagram, Dwarves, and many more. While the loud and heavy is where he chooses to call home, he is comfortable and experienced with all genres of music. Alden has worked with many local artists to bring their albums to life through tracking, mixing, and mastering. In addition to working at Sprout City Studios, Alden is currently the lead audio engineer at the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts at Oregon State University, where he has worked with Grammy Award winning artists including Andy Akiho, Tonality, John Scofield, and Kalani Pe’a. Alden’s signature style exudes both precision and atmosphere, no matter what volume your music is meant to be played at.
